Timothy Derell Gathings Jr., affectionately known by his family as “TJ”, was born on November 5, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia, to his beloved mother, Virginia Street and Timothy Gathings Sr.

Tim attended Volusia County Public Schools and graduated from Mainland Senior High School in 2010. He worked as a maintenance worker for the City of Daytona Beach, and he genuinely loved his job. Tim will be truly missed by his mother, family, and friends. He loved people, and he had a magnetic personality. That smile of his could lighten up any room.

Tim departed this life on November 4, 2025, the day before his 34th birthday. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mamie Ponder; his grandfather, Eugene Dean; his father, Timothy Gathings Sr., and his aunt, Kristi Ponder.

Those who will forever love and cherish Tim’s memories are his devoted parents: Virginia and David Street; step-sisters: Yasmin Robinson and Davionne Street; grandmother Joann Dean; aunts: Lori Ponder, Teresa Shropshire, and Daphne Waters (Bosie); uncles: Danuel Ponder (Melissa), Michael Ponder, Jackey Ponder, Jacob Ponder, Joel Ponder and Marki Coleman (Nikkeya) and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
