Mattie Oliver Wingfield
July 24, 1940 - September 1, 2024
Mattie Oliver Wingfield, 84, of Holly Hill, Florida transitioned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Mattie Bee Oliver Wingfield, the daughter of the late Johnny Lee and Emma Oliver, was born in Albany, Georgia on July 24, 1940. Mattie attended grade school and graduated from Carver High School in Albany, Georgia.
Mattie met and made a union with Willie James Wingfield Sr. (deceased) for 30 years until death do them part. They moved to Daytona Beach about 60 years ago, where they bought a home and raised their family. Through their love, they shared 8 beautiful children 4 daughters: Trisha, Wanda, Rosemary, Deann, and Jenette; 3 sons: Charles, Willie, and Melvin. Mattie was the beloved sister of 2 sisters: Flossie and Cora and 6 brothers: Johnny, Robert, Eugene, Jerry, Willie, and Frankie.
For many years Mattie worked as a homemaker, she loved the Lord and her family. She sang in the Choir and worked in the Clothing Ministry, where she faithfully served the Lord at Greater Friendship Baptist Church.
Mattie was proceeded in death by her husband Mr. Willie James Wingfield Sr.; her parents: Johnny Lee and Emma Oliver; sisters: Flossie and Cora; brothers: Johnny, Robert, Jerry, and Willie; daughters: Trisha, Wanda, Rosemary, and Jenette; sons: Charles, Willie, and Melvin.
Mattie leaves a great legacy of her strength, love, and compassion to cherish her memory her loving daughter Deann Wingfield of Daytona Beach, Florida; brothers: Eugene and Frankie (Sharon) of Albany, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law: Mrs. Debbie Wingfield of Daytona Beach, Florida and Mrs. Cassandra Wingfield of Fort White, Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.
