Martha L. Lecheminant
May 15, 1934 - July 29, 2024
Martha Lecheminant passed away peacefully on her own terms, in her beloved trailer on Rose Bay with her son and daughter by her side and kind hospice caregivers in the background. A remarkable woman who flew as a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol, she was also a certified scuba diver, car mechanic, rockhound, and jeweler among many other things. When she was sixty-five, she took off in a van by herself to travel throughout the US National Parks for six months. She liked it so much that she did it again the next summer. Yellowstone was her favorite. She loved cast-net fishing and birds. An inspirational and supportive mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend, she never wanted to move into assisted living and she never had to, making it two months past her ninetieth birthday living on her own. We will miss her and remember her always as we love the ocean, rocks, mountain trails, birds and the magic of the natural world.
The staff at Alonia's Cremation & Urns extends our sincere condolences to the family of Ms. Lecheminant.
