Martha L. Washington Garvin of Daytona Beach, Florida transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, 

December 17, 2024, at the age of 70.

Martha L. Washington Garvin was born June 26, 1954, to the late Leroy and Martha Washington in Bartow, Florida.

Martha joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at a young age to start her spiritual journey with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She later joined Mt. Gilboa Missionary Baptist Church and remained there until moving to the east coast of Florida. After moving to Daytona Beach, she joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until the end.

Martha's early education was at Union Academy Elementary and Gibbon Street Elementary. She completed High School in 1974 at Bartow Senior High School. She furthered her education at Bethune Cookman College and graduated in 1978, with a degree in Business Administration.

Martha met the love of her life, and they married in 1993. This union was blessed with one son, Marquez.

Martha leaves to mourn her memories her husband Willie Garvin; son Marquez Garvin; stepdaughter Nija Garvin; sisters: Marie Thomas, Ossie Johnson, Diane McLaurin, and Deloris Whiters; mother-in-law Cathrine (Queenie) Ellis; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Edwards, Jennifer Ellis, Linda Owens, Stine Ellis, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
