Mar'Lene Jasmine Ann Brooks
July 18, 1994 - May 24, 2026
God planted a beautiful rose on July 18, 1994, and named her Mar'Lene Jasmine Ann Brooks. On Sunday, May 24, 2026, He gently plucked His rose and called her home to Heaven.
Mar’Lene Jasmine Ann Brooks was born on July 18, 1994, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Arlene Michelle Lovelace‑Armstrong and Marty Jerome Brooks. From the beginning, she carried a light that touched every life she encountered. Mar’Lene completed her education at Seabreeze High School, graduating with the Class of 2013. She later earned her cosmetology license from Daytona State College in 2015, a milestone that reflected her creativity, determination, and passion for helping others feel their best. She went on to build a strong professional career with Walmart Corporation, where she served as the Team Lead for Food & Consumables. Her leadership, reliability, and work ethic were admired by all who worked alongside her. Above all else, Mar’Lene was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Jah’Leal M. Brooks and Kar’Ter D. Samuels. They were the joy of her life. She protected them fiercely, nurtured them tenderly, and loved them unconditionally. Her greatest purpose was ensuring they were safe, secure, and surrounded by love. Mar’Lene confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully singing in the youth choir, participating in the youth department, and offering her help wherever needed. She continued attending church with her children, committed to raising them in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Mar’Lene became an active and proud member of Order of Eastern Star Majesty #565, embracing sisterhood, service, and community with grace and dedication. Mar’Lene’s life was a reflection of her faith, her family, and her vibrant spirit. She loved spending time with her loved ones, traveling, dancing, and being the life of the party. Her favorite show, The First 48, was one of her simple pleasures, but her true joy came from creating memories with the people she cherished. She was outgoing and adventurous, known for making plans and seeing them through.
Her smile could brighten any room. Her energy lifted others. Her love for people was genuine and effortless. She had a gift for making others feel valued, welcomed, and seen. Even in difficult times, she carried a light that never dimmed.
Mar’Lene now joins in eternal rest with her Father, Marty Jerome Brooks; and her Grandmothers, Sharon Ann Barnes and Margaret Ann Rhodes.
She leaves to cherish her memory her Sons, Jah'Leal M. Brooks & Kar’Ter D. Samuels; Doggy Daughter, Spicy; Mother, Arlene M. Lovelace-Armstrong; Dad, Darien L. Armstrong; Siblings including Markila J.L. Brooks, Martisha Brooks, Darren L.
