Landon Derrell Bennett
"Tiger"
December 1, 1968 - February 19, 2025
Landon Derrell Bennett "Tiger" a former resident of Daytona Beach, Florida, transitioned from this earthly life into life eternal on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Los Angeles, California.
Landon Derrell Bennett, 56, was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on December 1, 1968, to Annie Woodard and David Hightower. To his family and most friends, Landon was affectionately known as "Tiger." Later in life, he relocated to Los Angeles, California, and was known as "Mango".
Landon attended Father Lopez High School, where he played baseball, and eventually attended Mainland Sr. High School graduating with his friends in June of 1986. He was awarded a full scholarship to Embry Riddle for baseball, however, he decided to start his car and truck detailing business instead.
Landon grew up in the church and traveled to Alabama every summer to work in the fields on his uncle's land, picking watermelon, peas and shucking corn. As he grew older, he began to love life, make people laugh, and always had a smile on his face. His smile and personality were contagious and everybody that knew him when stating his name, had to laugh at something he said or did.
Tiger loved to draw and was very talented at it. He would frequently go to school in clothing he altered himself and everyone would ask, "Where did you get that," not knowing that Tiger just took an old pair of jeans, shorts, or shirt and added his own design to it.
Tiger loved people and never met any strangers. He would just stop and randomly talk to people so much that you would think he had already met them. Once, he colored his hair to look like Dennis Rodman and walked around Daytona as people actually thought he was really Dennis Rodman and treated him as such.
Landon leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, Annie Woodard; 2 Daughters Ashley Bennett (Loxahatchee), and Layla Bennet (Sanford), Grandson, (Reo); his Siblings, Jacqueline King, (James), Tina Bennett (Perry), Jerome Bennett; Niece, J’nese Buners (James), Brittany King (Makika), Paris Imediegwu (Kelaa); Nephews, David Stephens Jr, Derrell Stephens and Jay Buners; Great nieces, Amani Nelson, Alexiya Nelson, Janelle Stephens, Jayla Stephens, Destany Bryant, Marley Bernard; Great nephews, Jordan Bryant, Jaxon Benard; Grand nephews, Jamon Buners and Brysen King; A very Special Sister-cuz, Elaine Jones; Aunts; Carolyn Jones of Daytona Beach, Fl, Mildred Woodard of Virginia, Fannie Burks of Clayton Alabama; Uncle, Elmer Woodard; (Doris) of Virginia, (Godbrothers), Chris Mack, Gary Mack and (God Sisters), Tammy Gadson and Lisa Fennell.
