Gloria Jean Wingfield
07/14/1956 - 07/25/2024
Gloria Jean Wingfield was born July 14, 1956, in Albany, Georgia. She transitioned to her Heavenly Home on July 25, 2024.
She attended Mainland High School and Daytona Beach Community College where she received her degree in Early Childcare.
Ms. Wingfield was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Greater Friendship Baptist Church where she worked as a beloved teacher for two decades also teaching at Carl Brinkley Center and St. Timothy Learning Center. Ms. Wingfield loved the children she taught over the years, and they loved her back. Teaching and educating were her passions. She was a sweet soul but knew how to discipline as well.
She was preceded in death by her mother Alberta Wingfield, brother Charles Wingfield, and nephews Koren Riley and Shawn Wingfield.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters: Charlotte Wingfield of Daytona Beach, Florida and Lista Riley (Steve) of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law Deborah Wingfield of Daytona Beach, Florida; great uncle Charles Breedlove of Daytona Beach, Florida; great aunt Fannie Lanier of Daytona Beach, Florida; nieces: Shayla Wingfield, Natalie Wingfield, Tyesha Turner and Katrina Gilliam (Carlos); nephews: Brandon Wingfield, Nate Wingfield and Shaquille Riley (Brittany); devoted cousins: Mattie Ford, Phyllis Artis and Angie Breedlove; special friends: Dawn Byrd whose children she helped raise, Gelesha Byrd and Bobby Brundage and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
