Eskrin (Erskine) Hooten
"Thee Black Carpenter"
December 9, 1953 - July 7, 2025
U.S. Veteran
Eskrin Hooten "Thee Black Carpenter", 71 of Daytona Beach, Florida, obediently answered the Lord's call and entered eternal rest on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Mr. Carl Erskine Hooten was born on December 9th, 1953, in Daytona Beach, Florida (Madison Heights Florida). Mr. Hooten graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Army on August 22nd, 1972. He was honorably discharged after two years of serving. Mr. Hooten has always been good with his hands and was always very particular about his work and work ethic. He was a "jack of all trades", this is why he is known as Thee Black Carpenter. He was able to fix anything (literally anything). He also loved to cook for family and friends.
Mr. Hooten found the love of his life Catherine Hooten (deceased) and they were married May 6th, 2016, and they were happy up until the day she crossed over. Mr. Hooten loved his family like no other. He loved helping people; he was a true servant of GOD. He was definitely a true believer and will always leave you with some knowledge, some wisdom and a fixed door! What he talked, he walked in the same direction. He has always been a proud black man. He will truly be missed by many! We should all express gratitude just for having the chance to be a part of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annie Hooten, Brother Sherlock Holmes, Sister Linda Hooten, and Wife Catherine Hooten.
He leaves to cherish his memory his 3 Sisters: Sandra Pinckney, Carolyn Maddox, and Brenda Harrison; God-Sister Hattie Mitchell Hinson; God-Brother Jeffery Conaway; Best Friend Darnell Troutman; 2 Brothers-In-Law James Buchanan and Eddie Maddox; Niece/Daughter Koko Cox; Nephew/Son Oceann Maddox; working partner Dustin Maddox and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Church Members.
The staff of Alonia's Cremation & Urns extends our heartfelt condolences to the Hooten family.
Cape Canaveral National Cemetery processional will line up in Lane C.
