With heartfelt sympathy, we announce that John Fenner of Port Orange, Florida, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the age of 93.

Bradford J. Fenner passed away at the age of 93 in Port Orange, FL, on June 28, 2026, following a brief illness.

Brad was born in Herkimer, NY on October 25, 1932. He attended Herkimer High School and earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Colgate University. He married the love of his life, Joanne Tapper, in 1960 and they welcomed their oldest son the following year. In the early 60s, he was a sports teacher in Corning public schools and played baseball on a feeder team for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The family later moved to Athens, OH, where Brad earned a doctorate and was licensed in Psychology. They also lived and worked in the Chicago area for several years before moving to Akron, OH, where Brad worked for many years at the Summit County Board of Mental Retardation (now the Summit County Department of Behavioral Health). After retirement, Brad and Joanne moved to Daytona Beach Shores, FL in 1997, where Brad was active in their condo association, serving as Secretary and President.

An avid baseball fan, cyclist, and Sudoku player, Brad enjoyed the company of good friends and was devoted to his immediate and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Margaret Fenner; his youngest son, Blair Fenner; his sister, Ruth Fenner; and his brother, Don Fenner. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Fenner; his son, Allan Fenner; his grandson, Trevor Fox Fenner; and a host of grateful nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.

Brad served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962 and will be buried at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to your favorite charity or cause.
